Payment September-May is pro-rated. Lesson rates are based on a 30-week lesson year over those 9 months and are scheduled between you and the teacher. Tuition is due on the 15th of each month. Payments received after the 15th of the month will accrue a $5 late fee unless other arrangements have been made with the Executive Director and/or Bookkeeper.

If you register for lessons in September you receive 30 lesson opportunities by the end of May, if in October (27), November (24), December (20), January (16), February (13), March (10), April (6), May (4).

Students missing a lesson are expected to notify their teacher 24 hrs before the lesson to be eligible for a make-up. Make-ups are always at the discretion of the teacher and his/her missed lesson policy, which they are expected to provide at the first lesson.

Teachers are always required to make up lessons THEY MISS and are contracted to fit these lessons in the time frame registered for. On rare occasions teachers may need to take students into the summer to fulfill this commitment.

If the Mankato School District is closed for a snow emergency, ALL LESSONS ARE CANCELLED with the Mankato School of Music without exception. Teachers are asked to provide 1 make up/snow day. If you are not able to attend the make-up offered by your teacher, you will still be expected to pay for the lesson.

COVID update: if you miss a lesson in person you may not make it up via ZOOM. Your chosen lesson method will be your method of make up.
